Banana Bread

Moist, tender banana bread with a deep caramel sweetness. The riper the bananas, the better the flavour.

Ingredients

  • 3 large ripe bananas
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup sugar
  • 0.33 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Steps

  1. 1Preheat oven to 175 °C (350 °F). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. 2Mash bananas in a large bowl until smooth.
  3. 3Stir in melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla.
  4. 4Add flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until just combined.
  5. 5Pour batter into prepared pan.
  6. 6Bake 55-65 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean.
  7. 7Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
