- 1Hard-boil eggs gently for 10 minutes; cool slightly, do not fully cool.
- 2Dissolve red food colouring in hot water with vinegar.
- 3Submerge warm eggs in the dye bath for 5–10 minutes.
- 4Remove and wipe with a cloth dipped in oil for shine.
- 5For other colours, use separate colour baths.
- 6Store in a bowl at room temperature; the first cracked egg on Easter morning brings luck.
