Archangel's Memorial Saturday (Arhangelova Zadushnitsa)

About

Arhangelova (Archangel's, or Autumn) Memorial Saturday — the last of the three great memorial Saturdays of the year, on the first Saturday before Archangel Michael's Day (8 November). It is also called Rangelova or the men's memorial Saturday. Orthodox Christians visit, tidy and decorate the graves, light candles and hand out boiled wheat, bread and wine for the souls of the dead, and churches hold a general memorial service.
