Celebrated on March 8th worldwide, International Women's Day honours the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. In Bulgaria it is a popular occasion for gifting flowers, especially tulips and mimosa, and expressing appreciation for mothers, daughters, partners and female colleagues.
