Frequently asked questions

What is a URL slug?

The readable part of an address that identifies a page — e.g. “my-post” in /blog/my-post. It contains only lowercase letters, digits and separators.

How is Cyrillic handled?

Enable “Transliterate” to convert Cyrillic to Latin (България → bulgaria). Disabled, it is stripped out.

Is my text sent anywhere?

No. Everything happens in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

Which separator should I choose?

A hyphen (-) is the URL standard and preferred by search engines. An underscore (_) is rarer, usually for filenames.
