Exact Time

The clock at the top of the page shows the exact time to the second for your own timezone — detected automatically from your device, so the value is right wherever you happen to be.

Bulgaria is on Eastern European Summer Time (UTC+3), so summer time is currently in effect. The country changes clocks on the last Sunday of March and the last Sunday of October, together with the rest of the European Union.

The clock is driven by your own device, and the page separately measures how far that clock has drifted from the svcs.bg server, whose time is NTP-disciplined. So you see both the time and how much you can trust it.

We take several requests to the server and keep the one with the lowest round-trip, assuming the outbound and return legs take equal time. The gap between the server's time and yours is the drift. The measurement is bounded by network latency, which we show alongside it so you can weigh the result.

The quartz oscillators in phones and computers drift by seconds a month. Operating systems normally correct this over NTP, but if that sync is disabled or the device has been offline for a long time, the drift accumulates.

A city page shows the time in that city. This page shows the time where you are — in a different timezone you get your own time, not Sofia's.
