Frequently asked questions

Is the flip really fair?

Yes. The outcome is decided by crypto.getRandomValues — the browser’s cryptographically secure random number generator — so heads and tails each have exactly a 50% chance, with no bias.

Which side is heads and which is tails?

"Heads" is the side with the main face or emblem; "tails" is the opposite side. In this tool heads shows "H" and tails shows "T", and each flip tells you which side came up.

Can I flip many coins at once?

Yes. Set "Number of flips" (up to 1000) and press "Flip" to draw them all at once — the stats and distribution bar update instantly.

Are the stats saved?

The stats (heads/tails/total and percentages) persist while you stay on the page, and you can reset them anytime. Nothing is saved to a server — it all lives in your browser.

What is it used for?

For a quick impartial decision, a draw, assigning roles, starting a game, or settling "who goes first". The classic way to leave a choice to chance.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. All flipping and stats happen locally in your browser via JavaScript — nothing is sent to a server.
