Frequently asked questions

How is typing speed (WPM) measured?

One "word" is standardised as 5 characters (including spaces). Net WPM counts only correctly typed characters divided by 5 and by the elapsed minutes; gross WPM counts everything typed. Accuracy therefore directly affects your score.

What is a good typing speed?

The average is around 40 WPM. Above 60 is considered good for text-heavy work, professional typists sustain 80–100+, and records exceed 200 WPM.

How do I type faster?

Use all ten fingers, look at the screen instead of the keyboard, and practise regularly in 10–15 minute sessions. Accuracy comes before speed — errors cost more time than slow, clean typing.

Are my results saved?

Your personal best for each duration is stored only locally in your browser (localStorage) — nothing is sent to a server and no signup is required.

Can I test in Bulgarian too?

Yes — the test uses the words of the page language. Switch the language from the menu above and start a new test in Bulgarian (or back).
