- 10 g fresh basil

- 1Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Crush the garlic cloves and cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
- 2Add the crushed tomatoes and stir to combine. Season with salt, pepper, oregano, and a pinch of sugar.
- 3Simmer uncovered on low heat for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
- 4Remove from heat and stir in fresh basil. Taste and adjust seasoning.
- 5Use immediately or store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
